At this stage of nursery life, group and personal developmental programmes are implemented into the everyday curriculum... more information can be found on our Curriculum for Excellence page. Activities and experiences are designed and executed in light of the children's own specific developmental needs. As such, every child is monitored and assessed in view of their abilities, requirements, aspirations, likes and dislikes.

The idea of good citizenship is introduced; the children develop self confidence, respect for themselves and others. We incorporate arts and crafts, cookery, books and story telling. The education side is developed by introducing the concept of numbers, word structure, shapes, feelings and so on. and by the time this stage is completed the children will be well rounded individuals with marked  personalities and a valued contribution to make.

With a dedicated, long serving staff team, play is used to achieve and learn at every available opportunity. As the ante pre-school element becomes more defined in this year (3-4 year olds), nursery takes on a whole new dimension for staff and parents, whilst the children are none the wiser, continuing to spend their days finding fun and laughter, games and excitement.  Staff work to ensure that each child is making progress towards the important transition of going to school after their pre- school year (4-5 year olds). This last stage of nursery is extremely productive and rewarding for all involved, none more so than the children themselves.
