  • Thank You

Thank you to all parents and children who have returned questionnaires to us over the past few months. These provide us with valuable information, and allow you to share your thoughts, ideas, opinions and suggestions with us. We will be producing another questionnaire shortly the results of which will form part of our Care Commission evaluation which we must submit before our next inspection. We would therefore appreciate the support of parents/ carers through the return of these. Thank you.

  • Recent Staff Training
Michelle B is now half way through 12 week course offered at Anniesland College called ‘ICT in the Early Years’. Michelle has found this very beneficial so far..

Nicola, Arlene and Susan are set to attend training opportunities through Experiential play – ‘Curriculum for Excellence – Adopting the Active Learning Approach’, ‘Curriculum for Excellence – Literacy Across Learning’ & ‘Making Playful Learning Visible’.

Peripatetic teacher visits have focused around supporting staff in embedding the thinking within Curriculum for Excellence into planning and practice, which we are making very good progress with.

Caroline has now progressed to the final level of the BA Childhood Practice which she is studying through Dundee University

We also have a number of local forum meetings and Glasgow City Council partnership meetings to attend in the coming months.

• A big welcome also to Laura and Siobhan who have joined the staff team.

• Danielle passed her driving test on the 3rd of November – Well Done!!

• Welcome also to Melissa M Mackin. Melissa has a strong background in finance and public policy and will be joining the Mackin Childcare Management Team.

• We would like to congratulate Melanie Mackin on graduating from The University of Glasgow with a degree in law (LLB) 2009 in addition to her MBA in Business which she achieved in 2005. • Tune into your children’s favourite songs – Five Little Ducks
(Please feel free to ask a staff member to give a little demonstration should you wish)

Five little ducks went swimming one day
over the pond and far away.
Mummy Duck said ‘Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack!’
but only four little ducks came back.

Mummy Duck said ‘Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack!’
but only three little ducks came back.

One little duck went swimming one day
over the pond and far away.
Mummy Duck said ‘Quack, Quack, Quack, Quack!’
but none of the little ducks came back.

Mummy Duck began to cry
Daddy Duck said dry your eyes.
Come over here and you will see
five little ducks coming home for tea.
