Team Mackin Childcare
Mackin Childcare is family business and has been involved in childcare for over forty years. We have amassed a vast knowledge and understanding of early learning and childcare, with an enviable intuitive grasp of child development and philosophy. Following in the footsteps of their parents and brother, sisters Melissa and Melanie Mackin now run the business.
Melissa and Melanie are very much hands on and involved in daily nursery operations. Both have worked in every area of nursery life at one time or another – starting from part-time after school!
In addition to these years of practical childcare experience and accumulated expertise both have formal educational accreditation – qualified Childcare Practitioners and Masters of Education in Childcare Practice – and a solid grounding in traditional business formation – our Managing Director holds an LLB, Dip LP and MBA and our Finance Director a BA (Finance) and MBA.
Team Munro
Munro House Nursery & Kindergarten opened in 1994 and has been an integral part of the the community since then. We have a dedicated team, many of whom have been with us for many years. Melanie, the managing director of Mackin Childcare is the manager at Munro House Nursery & Kindergarten. Qualified to Master’s degree level, and having 30 odd years’ experience in childcare, she is highly competent, trusted and experienced. Children genuinely enjoy her fun and cheer. She has dedicated her life to childcare and strives to provide the very best to the children in her care.
Our Deputy Managers have been with us for a decade or more. They have a wealth of knowledge, hands on practical experience and have undertaken advanced childcare qualifications. They provide invaluable support to the manager and lead the Nursery Team from the front.
All Munro House Childcare Practitioners are are professionally qualified. Many of them completed their apprenticeships at Munro House and went straight on to secure qualified positions. All are committed to childcare and have built strong careers working with children. All staff are First Aid trained and are certified to handle food. They mentor younger apprentices through their training with insight and kindness. Munro House has a vibrant, friendly, happy team that works together to ensure every child has the best care on offer. They are our most valuable asset and we are very privileged to have each and every one of them on board.
